Millenium Group
The Millenium Group was formed in St. Paschal Baylon Parish in 2000 following an appeal from Pope John Paul 11 that we should ” have a covenant with the poor”. We made the decision that we wanted to support people by both prayer and action and not to adopt just one charity but to attempt to raise £5,000 per year for specific projects both locally and globally.
Our aim is to make a difference in people’s lives and in many cases, we have helped the local economy abroad as materials are sourced locally and have given employment and training to local people to help them support their families financially and become more sustainable.
We endeavour to have a named personal contact with each project so that we are updated on progress and assured of the use of our donations.
To date, at the beginning of 2022 we have made donations to thirty different charities and raised £135,300.
We are incredibly grateful to our Parish community who have continued to support our fundraising efforts.
